I got mine from johnsmustang.com. Certainly a bit cheaper than cobranda.

Why do you want to go backwards in performance?

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

True story.  Back in my dirt track racing days, there was a guy running a street stock with a 351w in it.  Since I was running a 351w motor in another class, he was picking my brain about what he could do to pick up some "legal" power.  These motors were limited to stock exhaust manifolds.  I suggested a set of HiPo manifolds since they have a Ford part number.  He bought some and it made a HUGE difference.  He ended up winning a lot of races and basically dominated the class that season.

They don't flow as well as headers, but they are a much better alternative to stock manifolds.

I agree HiPo  manifolds are better than stock manifolds but if a car already has headers (and doesn't need to meet class restrictions) I can't see any good reason to swap them out.

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

Daze, I completely agree with you.  I can't see any reason why one would replace headers with manifolds unless the headers were causing issues with fitment.  Definitely would decrease the engines ability to breathe and make optimum power.  Perhaps if the engine was making too much power it would be a way to choke it...but there is no such thing as too much power, is there?

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

FIX THE LEAK AND GET THEM COATED!  WOULD BE CHEAPER THAN A SET OF HI PO'S UNLESS YOU CAN FIND A USED SET!  SORRY, I AM NOT YELLING BUT I WANT TO REPOND IN A WAY YOU UNDERSTAND!

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

I always want to complicate my life with headers on every car I make for myself, but after helping Ramses build his car, and seeing how well it runs and how well everything FITS in the engine compartment, I am definitley sold on the hipo manifolds for cars that are not built to race or get maximum horsepower out of them.  They are a great compromise for "street performance" cars where the owner wants trouble-free long-term performance.

If I had a 289 or 302 that is what I would be using.  If the 69 coupe ever gets a V8 in it, HIPO manifolds will be on it.

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

Steve's Mustang has some re-pops that seem reasonably priced.  Also, they occassionally come up on E-bay, originals and not very reasonably priced.
Good Luck

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

I would agree with what MS said  if we didn't have so many great shorty header options. That to me is the best of both worlds. Room to move AND performance. Unless you need manifolds for class restrictions I personally can not see why you would run them. If you dont run headers for more power at least run them for better MPG.

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

Has anyone done anything with the late model (94-95 Mustang) exhaustheaders? They are Stainless and hug the block fairly tight? I have a set laying here and that thing ran really good when I got it! They look like they will last forever.

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

Has anyone found that the "Tri-y"s" fit better than other headers.
I had to modify mine but thought it was because of the AOD.

Re: ANYBODY GOT A LINE ON SOME HIPO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS??

I BOUGHT MY HOOKER HEADERS FROM JETHOT YEARS AGO AND I HAVE A 5 SPEED WITH A CABLE SETUP AND THE HEADERS ARE JUST IN THE WAY.THEY STARTED BUBBLING UP AND FLAKING AFTER THEY HAD BEEN ON THERE A SHORT TIME. I WILL SEND THEM BACK TO JET HOT I THINK THEY HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY AGAINST FLAKING AND RE INSTALL THEM LATER....JUST KINDA WANTED TO TRY THE HI-PO ACTUALLY WOULD LOVE TO JETHOT THEM BLACK.

So if I understand you correctly you are ditching the headers because of the cable clutch??  to me that seams a little like pulling a 5-speed out and replacing it with a 4-speed because the drive line is to long.    To me the fix is to get the cable clutch working properly and keep the headers.  Are you using MS's longer cable or his original shorter one??  I realize that cable clutches and headers don't always play well together (I sell a lot of hydraulic setups for that exact reason)   but I also know a ton of people have had fantastic results with the cable clutch and I would think you situation is fixable with out ditching the headers.
