After the last 2 days of beating myself up,(did I kink a hose, did I hook something up wrong). All new hoses, new
steering box,rag joint, short column, remaned pump, slave cylinder, and control valve. The more I drove the car the worst
it got.Jacked it back up in the air, started it up, the wheel turns it self hard left all the way,I turned it back all the way right the pump made no noise.I remembered I had a good control valve core,it worked when I took it off 23 years
ago I put all plugs in and had wrapped it in plastic, I thought this would be a good start(process of elimination) .
With in 10 seconds of starting the engine I knew had a bad control valve The core worked perfect, great steering,.
the pump makes noise end to end. I guess where I went wrong was buying the control valve from rock auto. At 68
years old its a treat to have power steering and power brakes on one of these old mustangs. THANKS TO EVERY
ONE WHO TRIED TO HELP! GOOD LUCK STEVE ON YOUR MOVE! mustang stu
