Never used a 2 piece fuel pump eccentric before

Is the outside ring sapose to free spin?

Re: Never used a 2 piece fuel pump eccentric before

Yes, it is. And make sure you use the proper hardened steel thick washer under the camshaft bolt. The engine shop that did my 351W used a thinner, softer washer. The bolt, when torqued, deformed the thinner washer, which also deformed the stationary ring, which allowed the outer, freewheeling ring to wobble, which cut deep grooves into my timing chain cover, requiring an engine removal and teardown because I couldn't tell where all the aluminum in my oil and filter was coming from. Needless to say, the shop did a do-over for no charge.....

Be sure to use the shorter camshaft dowel and the timing set with the raised boss so the outer ring has clearance to spin freely. The earlier versions designed for one piece eccentric will not work with the two piece.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Great point.  This is the stock 94 setup so it is already set up for both of those things.

Exactly! IIRC the cast eccentric  is 1/16” thicker and the cam sprocket is 1/16” thinner and the dowel is 1/8” longer. The two piece eccentric is suppose to have less friction

I'm not a complete idiot.....pieces are missing. Tom
