Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

Wondering if you could use Mustang Steve's 2005-2014 front disc brake conversion brackets to mount the Ford Racing M-2300-S GT500 front disc brake kit (which is designed to replace 2005 - 20014 GT and V6 brakes) thereby giving a vintage Mustang late model GT500 front disc brakes? Seems like it should work - might need a fitting adapter for the brake lines, but everything else would seem to bolt up.
Anyone tried this or any thoughts?

Re: Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

You may have to grind a little clearance on my bracket to clear the bigger pistons, but they will work. This has been done by quite a few customers. Also have bracket sets for the 2015-2018 Mustang GT 14” front discs.
18” wheels are required.

Note:  the calipers are alot wider and stick out farther. Very limited wheel selection to clear those bad boys.

MS...appreciate the reply!!   Don’t see a set of brackets for 14” discs listed on your website

Tenthumbs,
I haven’t put the kit up on the website yet, but was planning on trying to get it on there this week.  Email me and we can work something out.

Also, I have a kit for the 2014 GT500 front 14” brakes now too. They also require at least 18” wheels.

Re: Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

To clarify

The 2005-2014 Mustang GT and GT500 14” brakes use the GT2008-FT

The 2015 and up 14” GT and Brembo beakes will use the GT2015-FT

Thread revival

What is the caliper bolt spacing on the gt500 calipers or the gt2008-FT brackets?

Re: Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

Its right around 5 29/32".  I'd have to pull the CAD drawing from my laser cutter to get the exact measurement.  Let me know if you need that.

Re: Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

Hey Mike,
Thanks very much for that.

Reason I was asking is I have a set of CTS-V brembo calipers here, that look exactly like the GT500 brembo calipers. The bolt spacing on these calipers are pretty much 5". Looks like the ford ones had a slightly different bolt spacing.

And that 2014 gt500 brake kit you mentioned. Can i confirm that's the 6 piston brembos withn14" rotors to suit?

Thanks again

Re: Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

The Brembo calipers I used were four piston off a 2014 GT500 14" rotor.  Here's a video of a fellow talking about the prototype kit using those 2014 Brembo GT500 14" brakes:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eDuyGkMiNY&t=69s

Re: Mustang Steve’s front disc brake kit and Ford Racing M-2300-S

That's for that info Mike. I was gonna ask if you guys used the 4 or 6 piston Brembos.
