I have a 1968 mustang coupe, with a 289 stock engine. I just put the a/c back in it but I can't find the right idler pulley and bracket that goes from the a/c housing to the water pump. Or is it possible that there are different brackets for this application. I just don't know. If I could get different pictures of the brackets maybe it would help get the right one. ? I've tried all the part books in the U.S. but still nothing I need help. Thanks from the Great white north Canada. Al.

There are two different brackets, depending on when your car was built, before or after 3/1/68.
Early:
Late:
Welcome to THE best place around.

Looks like Barry has been doing his homework looking for brackets to his 390 car! I know I spent a lot of time looking.
Mustangtek is another place to check out. There is a lot of parts sorted by part number with applications and pictures.

Took me years to piece together a correct front dress system for the 67 ... bought so many incorrect parts along the way. The correct crankshaft pulley and its timing pointer are as common as rocking horse sh*t .... maybe rarer.

Carinfo, unfortunately, my area of experience is with late 67, early 68 big blocks.
Talk to the great guys at WCCC, they are very knowledgeable and helpful, and their prices aren't bad.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
