Floor mounted E brake handle project complete.

Today I finished my floor mounted e brake handle. I used a 97 Ford Escort handle and Cobra cables. My rear discs are '17 GT . I removed the mounting plate from the Escort that was tack welded in place. This was a fairly simple install and did not require cable splicing. I chose this lever because it manually adjusts inside the car.
I attempted several times to post pics before I ran out of patience. If anyone is interested send me a PM with an email address and I'll send pics and details.

Billy send them to the Burg and I'll post em. Kinda interested in seeing how you did it anyway.

Re: Floor mounted E brake handle project complete.

I am interested too. I tried to mount my 90ish ebrake and ended up trying to exist in the same space as the drive shaft.

Mine is in the driveshaft area also. I haven't road tested yet but I measured the hell out of it and I'm 99% sure it's ping to work. If not I have a plan B.

Oh it happened. Instead of wasting my time trying to post pics I worked on the car.

Re: Floor mounted E brake handle project complete.

Sorry Bill I didn't get these picks up yesterday. Worked late last nigh and went straight to bed when I got home. I see you have them posted on the how to page. Hear they are for anyone following this thread. I shrunk them down. See Bill's write up and full size pics on how to page. Think I'll start hunting for 97 Escort parts.

That article was my inspiration for the mod. After putting discs on the back I was unable to pull the lever out enough to set the rear brake.  Aging ain't for sissys. I new I didn't want to have to climb under the car to adjust the cables but I didn't want the complexity of a self adjuster. I spent a couple hours at the pick and pull looking at different set ups and found this one. I had no idea it would be this simple to install.
