You shoulda stop-drilled it before putting the bolt back in.

Sounds good, Steve.  As expected, it looks good too.  Butt (TS&T), prolly not "snotty" enough for Sal.

Josh used a Lee (Saginaw in Ford Cloths) and liked it.  I got one, liked it also.  Looks just like a Fox/5.0 pump but doesn't moan like a mashed cat, looks like it belongs.

Sounds like a voltage issue. As Dan has suggested, check voltage with the motor disconnected, then check with the motor connected and operating.  I suspect crappy/dirty/corroded connection (s) somewhere.  Maybe at the firewall where cabin power comes in.  You can run a hot jumper directly from the battery to the motor and see it works better, then you'll know if it's related to a poor connection.

I completely disassembled my vent window assemblies and sent the frames out for re-chroming.  Never have regretted that decision, Bob.  I guess it's getting harder to find a chrome shop these days but if you can find a good one I think you'll be better off.  I used New Age in Houston but that was in 2015.  They did a nice job however, it seems that the plating scratches easily.  Something to ask about, I guess.  It does look way better than the "flash chrome" crap on most re-pop stuff.   Good luck, as nice as your car looks from the pix you have posted, I'd think you want the chrome work as nice as you can get.
Also, if you are planning to keep the stainless bright work, I recommend you ding it out and polish it yourself.  Took me about a week to do the parts for the Heap but, again, I'm not sorry I did it   And, I learned a lot.

I have a Vintage Gen 4 system in our 66 with the electronic controls with infinite fan speed, temp blending and vent mixing.  Love it.  Hotter'n Help at the Bash this year...even the natives were complaining...but the AC kept Mrs BB quite happy. Nuff said.

Well, maybe not totally ugly with that hi-rise manifold.  Butt, (TS&T), are you gonna be able to get to the spark plugs in a '65 with those spacers?  Looks like the valve cover is out there a bit.

I inherited a 1980 vintage Enco Drill-Mill couple of years ago.  Installed a 3-axis DRO from an Ebay source a few months ago...man, what a difference.  I had to custom make all the mounting hardware but the only real issue was, and still is, understanding the Won Hung Low instructions.

Good on you Greg, you gonna love it!

Rudi, before I bought my lift I used four HF wheel dollies with two 12" pieces of 4X4 on each for the tires to set in a sort of "V".  This arrangement got the car high enough that I could quite easily work underneath it.  I did all the plumbing and  installation of the 8.8 with this setup.  My friend used it but went to sections of 6X6 to install the new exhaust system on his 69 Camaro.  That works great but is nearly too much for my floor jack.
Just sayin', it's an idea.

I really don't have a lot of experience doing stripes but I tend to agree with the notion of decals.
What I really want to add, Bob, is that you must be getting close and you need to make sure you are ready do drive that car to next year's Bash in Bako, CA.  What a totally cool shake-down run that would be.  Hope it happens. I bet you could meet up with some of the Texas gang so's you wouldn't be crusin' alone.

Drove the Heap to the local "Trunk & Treat".  handed out four bags of goodies and came home.  Mrs, BB1 said we had the two little girls who live behind us....no more.  I think we had five last year.  Maybe all our kids moved to Katy and Mukilteo.

Had em on my '50 Ford.  They wern't called Port-a-Wall then...at least not by those of us who used them, but I can't recall what we did call them.  Something totally non-politically correct, I'm sure.

From my early research and experience, the only idler arm that contributes to "return to center" is the power steering arm.  It has a significantly larger bushing as well as being designed to positively lock down the inner and outer diameter of the bushing.

Just measured, the Heap has 3 5/8 from the pulley to the two-row, 20" aluminum radiator.  I have a seven blade, 17" fan with thermal clutch, home-brew shroud that forces all air to be drawn through the radiator, home-brew coil of gas rod stuffed in the lower hose (experts tell me this won't work and will rust out and fill the system with rusty bits in no time at all.  I'm sure that's  true but mine has been in there since 2010 with no problems).
Just got back from the center of hell...San Antonio, TX area with zero heating problems.  Back in '17 I drove it to Las Vegas and ended up setting on I-15 for a half hour in 120 degree temps...with the AC on.  Heap temp got up to about 220 with me giving it a minute or two of 2000 rpm idle from time to time.  Good luck.

And speaking of WD-40, I use it as a cutting fluid on aluminum and brass...works great.  Butt (TS&T) I got tired of paying for aerosol cans.  HF, and others, I'm sure, sell it in gallon cans.  Cheaper and with a spray bottle, just as handy.

Happy anniversary you kids.

Very good to see you posting, Walt.  Your name came up recently regarding you electronic skills.  You know, Brenda and you...or at least Brenda gave Jean and I an anniversary cake at either Lisa and Terry's first bash in '13 or at Lori and Jerry's bash in '14.
Hope you two can join in again, sure do miss you.

Bob I'd be happy to buy you and Jean a anniversary cake but can't take credit where credit isn't due. My B-day is 9-27 and I think that's what the cake was for. At least that what Brenda told me, maybe she told you something different. Here's to many more anniversaries!!!!

Hey Walt.  How about you get your Mustang or that Fairlane (my favorite) on the road and cruise to the Bako Bash next year with me.  I think Jean is going to fly out early and visit her brother before the bash so I'll be solo.  Sure would love to see Brenda and you again.

And a very happy and very belated birthday to you, Walt.
