IF your rich uncle/whoever died and left you $100,000 to spend on your Mustang........what all would you do??!
I'll go first (cause it's my freak'in post! )

2.Tub /back half the rear
3.Install "appropriate tires"
4.Install frame connectors
5.Get a 4/5 speed Lenco tranny installed
6.Build a 347 with forged everythings(includes AC!)
7.Install a roll cage
8.New interior

I know better than put it in any more mustangs after the last Carlisle event over the last weekend.

My 67 coupe would be....
1. Converted to a fastback.
2. Install a built 428 SCJ
3. 9" with 3.50 traction lock
4. Some hard a&& 6 speed tranny.
5. Rail gun mounted on roof.

Full on rotisserie restification to include:
1.) Stroker FE with 8 stack EFI
2.) T56
3.) Nodular 9" with all the fixin's
Only if there were restrictions on how I could use that $100k though. If I could do anything with it I'd probably just hold onto it and use it to make more money once the real estate market tanks.

I think I'd tell the Heap that it looks pretty good and that I love it just the way it is. Then I'd prolly bid on the '67 fastback I saw this morning on Bring a Trailer. Or...find a really nice '67 Fairlane.
Offline
I'd buy $20 worth of gasoline and pocket the remaining $99,980 dollars...

I'd do the same. Fill the tank and spend $49.950 on wine, women and song, then buy another boat so I could pi$$ away the rest maintaining it.......not.
Nah, I'd maybe get the 68 new tires and new paint, then invest the rest. That'd sweeten the pot a little more for the wife and kids when I eventually check out.

On the first read, the Mustang needs some siblings…
buy a 66/67 Fairlane
63/64 Galaxie
3/4 ton Bump side 4x4
a first gen Bronco and a bigger garage.
With a second look at the $$$, I was missing a 0. 😵💫
just add the Fairlane. 😤

I would get my vibration fixed. What’s ANOTHER $100,000?
Offline
I’d drive and visit my 10 best friends….hmmmm…I need 9 more.
Offline
Build another garage, get a lift and finish the Fairlane.

I'd hire my nephew to bend over the fenders to change my valve seals, since he just changed the 32 seals on his BMW.

1. Mini-Tubs for the rear .. and all that goes with it.
2. Install 4-link
3. Wider rear wheels & tires to fit the mini-tubs

For my poor neglected 66 coupe here's my what if plan:
1. New Coyote with a Whipple supercharger
2. 6R80 auto trans
3. If money is no object, Detroit Speed front and rear suspension

6Sally6,
I have:
9 inch with posi.
408 stroker.
Frame rail extensions from Total Control Products. Also cross brace from TCP.
Fairly new interior (ProCar Sport seats from Summit)
5 speed (bullet proof by Glen).
17" American Racing Torque Thrust M rims and new tires (BF Goodrich G Force)
Also have:
Pioneer Radio AVH-X4800BS head unit with 1,000 watt amp by Rockford Fosgate P1000X5 Punch with speakers all around.
Borgeson power steering
Disk brakes Kelsey Hayes in front, 2004 Mustang in rear.
After market air conditioning by Vintage Air
Modified suspension, Shelby drop, Moog all around
Bilstein shocks
20" radiator 1970 Mustang
5 Blade after market Fan
Fan shroud
LED turn signal, brake, and back-up lights.
22 gallon gas tank.
I do not have a roll cage.
I would put the money in the bank and let it grow.

So I can make neat stuff for my car I would like a 3D printer that does metal and a small cnc 5 axis mill.
Might be more $$$$ than my benefactor hands over.

Finish my 67 Mustang!
But in all seriousness:
1. Re-chrome all my chrome parts (I LOVE chrome)
2. Get a really nice paint job.
3. Pay someone to help install the wiring harness.
Offline
I would fix my car back up.
Offline
I would build a Cortex Mustang replica.

I'd buy a house out in the boonies with sidewalks on both sides of the street so my wife would go with me. Oh well just ran out of money.
Offline
If there is even one sidewalk by the street you haven't reached the boonies.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
