The shop is actually getting close to being done. So naturally it's time to start shopping for a lift. I've looked at some, but wanted to get some suggestions from y'all on what to get. What are things to consider, things to look for, things to stay away from, brands, etc.

I bought the Direct Lift Pro-Park-8-Plus from Derek Weaver (link below). This was the only one I could find that provided high enough clearance under the runways to allow it to be worked under without thinking about it...6', 9''. My shop is small so this allows me to run the lift all the way up when not in use and use the floor space as though the lift isn't there. I also bought the hydraulic "rail jack". That adds flexibility for wheel/brake type work. I also bootlegged some LED tubes under the right runway that really light up the work area under the lift.

I also have a Direct Lift with the sliding rail jacks. Very happy with it.

have 4 arms lift and very satisfied . Choosen this one because i can do all the needs of undercar , wheels and suspension too .
The "drive on " has limited operation , but if you have enough room you can store two cars in the same place . As this comes from germany , i think is impossible to ship due to wheigh . is soo heavy ! Can load 4 tonn , hyd . Sorry i can't add pics .

One thing to consider is how high up it goes. My neighbor switched his first one out because it wouldn't go up high enough so he could park his Jeep under it, which made it useless for storage for his purposes.

I been very happy with my 2 post for yrs. Makes it easy to do most anything suspension wise or just to rotate tires. I just got to quit walking into them dangling wheels

Yeah, that does suck. I've done that more times than I should have...

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
