Shoulder belts in 65 mustang

I'd really like to install safer seat belts in my 65 mustang, looking for install method for getting shoulder belts in there and I'd like it to look good, i.e. like it belongs there.  Along with the fronts it would be nice to have them for the rear passengers also.  I've had and driven this car for 30 years, but not driven it much the last few years.  I'd really like to get it back out on a regular basis, and making it safer to do so is a goal.  Thanks.

Re: Shoulder belts in 65 mustang

HT or FB?  If it's a HT this might help.

I think I got the "B" pillar mount from NPD but the belts they had were pretty crappy IMO.
I found some  nicer ones on Ebay that had stiffeners for the inside portion of the front belts and a modern push-button release.  The guides on my Fox Vert seats really help make it work like a "factory" install.  Sorry I don't have any better close-up pix of the parts.

If you have an FB, most guys are adding an attachment point above and just behind the door opening, at the roofline.

Re: Shoulder belts in 65 mustang

A little background on the car.  1965 mustang coupe/notch, originally wimbeldon white w/red interior, 200 6 cyl, 3 speed manual transmission.  I've  had it since I was 15, dad and I went through the whole car got it road worthy and gave it fresh paint.  Drove it through high school and college and by then the engine was just about shot, and the little dagenheim 4 spd I installed (after the 3spd wore out) was starting to pop out of gear.  Parked it for a few years til I had a steady job.  Dove back into the 65 with "restomod" intentions, took it down to it's shell.  It ended up with a moderate 351W, C6 auto, lincoln versallies 4-wheel disc setup, burgundy metallic paint, Palimino interior.

Re: Shoulder belts in 65 mustang

Thanks for the reply.  I still have the factory seats, may upgrade to a newer style.
