Winter before last, installed Viking front coil overs.
Initial setting was 5 compression, 10 rebound.
Didn’t have much opportunity to experiment with settings last year.
Had lots of fun driving it, when I could.
This spring, before our vacation trip, I raised the front ride height about an inch.
This was for ground clearance for my front sump oil pan (need to change, too deep for a lowered car).
Took me about 30-40 minutes at a leisurely pace, then had front end alignment next day.
No issues with coil overs on trip to Texas and back.
Yesterday, I took off for about a 200 mile round trip to Harbor Freight and Lowe’s…it was Sunday.
Changed adjustments to 7 compression, 14 rebound…less than 5 minutes to adjust both sides.
Firmness was instantly noticed while backing out of garage onto our non paved driveway.
Wow!!! I could feel just about every tar repaired crack on Michigan’s crappy highways.
Still not as stiff as my previous setup from 30 years ago.
I want to try some combos over washboard roads this summer.
Previous setup, 20 mph was too fast and down right scary at times.
Looks like rear shocks will be on my list next for modifications.
The KYB’s (Gas-A-Just) have been great for nicely paved roads, no complaints.
Just not here in Michigan as many of ya probably know who made the Sweet 16 Bash in Michigan.
