I have a dura Spark system inMy car and it cuts outs out at around 3000 rpm. I have replaced wires and plus to no avail and have now bought a new coil. So I measured the two on the bench. The one removed reads 1.1/200 between the + and - posts and 6.99/20 between the center and the +post. The new one reads 1.6/200 and 9.29/20 Which one is the good one? I have no idea what they should read.

Are you using the horseshoe coil connector with the buttons on top of coils?
Offline
Yes, The Painless harness for it.

Probably not the coil. We had this issue on modified 5.0s. It was the module on the distributor. A better module with more dwell solved the issue. The factory one just didn't saturate the coil long enough to create a hot enough spark to reliably light the mixture.

Duraspark TKO.
Not TFI.
