I may have stumbled across a very GOOD discovery.........

Some oil filters have a "silicone anti drain back feature" This means when you first fire up the engine the oil pressure light/gauge will immediately start working because "the oil did NOT drain back to the pan!"
These oil filters (like Motorcraft) have an 'S' after the part number.
I'm gonna look for that when I do my next oil change.

If you have been using the Motorcraft FL-1A filter, you already have the anti-drain back valve.  Read it here

1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

Fram oil filter PH8A also has anti-drain back valve.


65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.
