I am getting ready to install a 347 crate engine and plan to replace the water pump
What is recommended
Standard volume or High volume?
Cast iron or aluminum?
I have an aluminum 24 radiator with a 7 blade clutch fan AC PS PB

Standard volume/OEM-type pump should be fine.
To bad we can't do pictures very easily....I would love to see your set-up!!

What accessory drive are you running? You need to make sure the timing cover and water pump match the accessory drive style. Serpentine systems use a reverse rotation pump. V-belts use a standard rotation pump. I think there are some length differences on early pumps too.
Brand wise, GMB makes good pumps if one is available for your application.
