I cut and paste a link from a photo hosting site. I use imgur.com.
I never used the one that’s gone from here.

Monster Transmission is another good site for AOD info. "Curts Corner" on that website, has two really good videos on how to install the Lokar TV cable along with adjusting it so you're running the right pressure. I referenced those videos when I set up my AOD. Worth checking out...

I doubt that Ford used a gauge in the pressure port of the AOD on assembly, much to time consuming on the production line.
I think that the slotted spacer tool at the carb end of the TV cable was the production method, I guess it must work but not wanting to risk damaging my Baumannised AOD I chose to use a pressure gauge for a “dead nuts”set up.
Lokar has a great PDF on their web site on setting up the TV cable, I think those instructions also come with the cable.

Agreed. After I installed mine per the instructions, I checked it with a pressure Guage an it was spot on.

I’d like to get mine to shift a little later but apprehensive to mess with something that’s working.
Years ago I should’ve got a Siverfox or Lentech valve body to eliminate the 1-2-1 shuffle. Can’t be bothered now.

Changing shift points should be done by making modifications to the governor, not messing with the TV cable. TransGo makes a kit to do it, probably others too.

Ok looks like the phone or tablet method for imgur is not the same as my desk top version.
The drop down on the pc has options one of which is a link that actually post the picture, the phone and iPad just gives a link that has to be clicked on to view the photo. Drat🤬
Hopefully MS comes up with the solution he mentioned in another post.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
