205 lbs is nice, but yeah I guess you are saying that by the time you add batteries it's heavy. I would think they'd have no problem making a 400hp/500ft lb TQ motor for around the same specs.
 

Yep.  Batteries and other associated hardware and cabling adds at least 700-1,000lbs.  To say nothing of cost.  I love that people think this is progress, but electric vehicles are hamstrung by the same limitations they had 120 years ago, which is why IC took off and electrics faded away.  I mean hey, if what's old is new again is anyone considering steam power?  Lots of torque, efficient, and clean.  Just sayin'.

It's that trailer full of wood you have to drag behind the car is the small problem.

Nah, steam cars used a burner that ran on gasoline, kerosene, etc.  Easily refueled, uses existing infrastructure, and kerosene burns super clean.  A lot of filling stations around here already have K1 kerosene.  Of course the government would want to tax it once its used for on highway transportation, so there'd be on road and off road kerosene for sale.  They'd have to dye it differently or something so they could fine guys trying to scam the man and use heating kerosene to power their vehicle.
