Ah...My youth.  I grew up is SoCal and spent a lot of Saturday nights at Lions, San Fernando, Santa Ana, and other venues.  I've seen Ivo many times both with the 4-engine (primarily used for entertainment.) and his single engined Buick.  Boy, was I lucky. 

I got to see all of those early cars and drivers.  One favorite was the Bean Bandits.  A group of Hispanics who ran 6-cylinder gassers - Both Chevy and GMC - The GMC was a better motor.

Bean Bandits were/are a club that ran and, according to a friend of mine, still run a B-Ville streamliner.
My grandson's great granddad was in the BBs and there is a photo of him with the crew at B-Ville a number of years ago.
So...my grandson has this stuff in his blood, it showed when he (16) was helping me put the Heap engine back together and in the car.
