At least I hope so.
Off to surgery today for an IOL in my left eye, the other one gets the same in about three weeks.🤓

Here's hoping for the best result, Rudi. Everyone I've known that has had cataract surgery recently have had great results, including Mrs. BB.

Good luck with your recovery, and with the right eye.

Pray all works out well.

Rudi I pray your surgery goes as well as mine did. Back in June had mine done about a month apart. For starters the doc was drop dead gorgeous, so I forgot to ask all the questions I had planned to ask. I had not one issue with either eye. I compare the outstanding improvement to getting glasses in the seventh grade. A life changer for sure.

Thanks guys, can’t see squat right now, surgery was at ten this morning.
Mikee, lol on the old guy remark, I had prostatectomy year’s ago, last bout of gout was when I still worked for a living. Teeth are mostly mine, memory is iffy.
With so many of my body part replacements I am starting to feel like Steve Austin, although I’m better looking.

BB2 The big question is, was she as good looking after the surgery or was she still a she.

Brahahaha!
Oh ya, she's a cutie. Got her life story, but no info on my surgery other than what she offered. Kinda embarrassed actually, damn testosterone.

I really didn't know what IOL was. Now after reading about it, I'm curious which type of IOL lense did your doctor implant for you?

Hope it went well Rudi - my dad had both eyes done, and it was the most amazing transformation when he could actually see again. Good luck!

And they built you for probably only a couple hundred grand! Seriously though, best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Good luck and here's hoping for a speedy recovery. I keep complaining to my eye doc, but he says mine isn't bad enough yet for surgery.

TKO said And they built you for probably only a couple hundred grand!
out of pocket my cost was the price of a pair of dark glasses to fit over my segular specs.
Being over 65 YOA in Canada qualifies me for no cost IOL replacement, same as most of my health care. such as joint replacements, etc.

Rufus, I had a choice of a wide gamut of implants I opted for the "Aspheric" IOL for which I still may need reading glasses and distance.
The Aspheric lens gives bettervisual contrast and improved quality of night time vision.
As for still needing glasses' its not an issue since I amd used to wearing glasses having worn them since I was in my twenties.
Offline
I too have the Aspheric lens. Some folks get one lens for reading and the other for distance. Word is unless you've worn contacts for the same purpose, it's difficult for your brain adjust to it causing many people to not like the experience. With my Medicare plan G, I might have paid $100 including the eye drops which were the biggest expense for me.
Offline
My wife will be in that group with one reading and one distance lens when she gets to the point of getting implants. She has been wearing contacts back when hard contacts were the only ones available.
My son got multi focal implants so he does not need glasses and had both done the same time. Being under 60 his cost was astronomical, like over 7 grand, good thing he had private insurance coverage.
Most people I talk to are pleased with the results, you happy with yours Bob?

Ain't that the truth! When I retired we moved to Georgia, just north of Atlanta. Before that I always lived in southern California, but between the crazy politicians and the cost of of living it didn't make sense to stay there.
I see you're from SC. A few years back we flew the grandkids out and then drove to DC to show them the museums. When drivng back we passed thru SC and stopped at a restaurant called the Clock. Their menu was divided in sections, one of which was vegetables, where peach cobbler was displayed. We ate ALL of our vegetables that night. Unfortunately thats about all I remember of SC.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
