Damn I Miss Having A 56 F-100

Went to the 50th North-South F-100 Run yesterday in Santa Maria Ca. The first one I attended was back circa 1978 in Visalia, and drove my 56 big window. There were so many nice pick ups there that I had a major case of envy going on. I just gots to get another 56. Most had 351 Windsors, with the rest being Clevelands, FEs, 460s, and a few mod motors, flatheads, and just a few shivys.

I own one. Just need to get some “other stuff” like rebuilding a bowtie v8 in my boat before I can get back on it.

Re: Damn I Miss Having A 56 F-100

One problem with 56 F100s is they have pretty much the same values as the 69 Mach 1. Stupid prices. Guess I'm stuck in the eighties

Re: Damn I Miss Having A 56 F-100

All this talk has got me ta-thank'in.........(nothing good ever comes from that!)....thank'in about a truck that would check all the 6sally6 boxes!!
I checked around local and.......nuth'in....CL....nuth'in........
Then I finally found what I consider the "perfect-truck" to fulfill the 6sally6 dreams on you tube.
It does need a little body work and it was a little older than what I wanted but.........
its got lotsa potential...I thank.
Give me your honest opinion if this would be a good MSBash cruiser?!

Back in college, I had a manager with a framed cross stitch his wife made for him with that definition on it.  I'll never forget it:

boat (n) - A hole in the water
             surrounded by wood
             into which one pours money.

1968 T-code Coupe with a 302.  Nice car, no show stopper for sure, but I like it.

Re: Damn I Miss Having A 56 F-100

I live at Canyon Lake. Beautiful clear water and boating weather nearly year-round.  Except for that rare seven degree freeze that busted out the side of the block.  Boat shop said they haven’t had any cracked Fords.  Only the Chevy engines.  After disassembling it for the new block, I can see why it is a good thing I am a Ford guy.

So many people with busted blocks due to that and the marinas are charging obscene prices to rebuild people's stuff.
