Hey Hey
I am having issues with the starter on my 1988 Foxbody 5.0 with manuel transmission.
It seems to me that the gear on starter an the teeth on the flywheel does not engages properbly. Instead off fitting nicely into each others teeth , they barely engages and just touches .
Is it possible that there is a difference on the starter for auto and manuel transmission?.
How many teeth are there on a 5 speed manuel transmission ??.
I have 2 starters and they have both 9 teeht on there gear , is this ok?.
If you have any info towards the subject please write .
Best regards Olling (DK).

The depth of the starter drive gear for auto and manual trans is different. One (I forget which one) is about 1/2" longer. You need the longer version.
