Re: Happy Veteran's Day

I was going to get my FREE lunch at T.G.I.Fridays butt, it was going to rain sometime today and I had a short window to run the lawn mower over the rest of the leaves on the lawn, so I mowed.  Maybe next year.

Re: Happy Veteran's Day

There aren't enough words to thank all the men and women in uniform who protect our freedoms every day.  One day a year is simply not enough either.  I try to hold all those in our armed services in my thoughts and prayers daily.  Both my grandfathers were Navy pilots during WWII.  My Mom's father served on the USS Savannah, which was hit by a Fritz-X bomb dropped by the Nazis off Salerno in 1943 with a loss of 197 of her crew.  Pop-pop was one of 4 pilots on that ship flying Curtis SOC Seagull float planes.  My Dad's father had his enlistment deferred for a year while they made sure that he was not a Nazi spy or sympathizer (as a Lutheran of German descent he attended a church whose pastor was seen to have Nazi leanings).  Once cleared he spent the last two years of the war training pilots in Florida.  Both of these great men are sadly gone, and I never had a chance to talk to them about their service.

My father-in-law also served in the Navy aboard a submarine during the Cold War.  He then spent the next 30 years in the DOD.  I am truly blessed to have had the ability to talk to him about his experiences (what he can tell me anyway).

Freedom isn't free, but the US military will pay most of your share.  Thank you to all our veterans!

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on.
