Debating on a changing to the 22 gallon tank or just replacing mine with a 16 gallon stainless would like to do away with any further rust in tank issues....noticed some are Galvanized some are steel some stainless.

Neither. Get this one,

which is terne plated. It is a form of tinplate, which is coated with an alloy of lead and tin. Mine has a drain plug, might have to look for another model number further down in those listed.

Billy, if you take Mr. RPM’s advice and get the 22 gallon tank , remember you will need gas gauge sender for that tank.   # 9275-3b
The 16 gallon  sender will be give an off reading.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was made by the same people as the one I posted.

After my research, I too went with the Spectrum from NPD.

I went with the galvanized tank.
IMO - unless you're worried about water collecting in the tank, the increased cost of the SS version isn't worth it.  I will also say that an SS tank will likely outlast the car.

I don't see a need for a stainless gas tank or the extra cost that comes with it.

Let's be real, the danger of a tank rusting out comes from a way in which none of us are ever going to drive our cars (in the winter with salt on the roads).  If you are detailing the underside maybe stainless would be nice (assuming its 300 series and not 400 series which will slightly rust).
