I was asked to drive a car in the Montana 500 and accepted the offer. The Montana 500 is a timed 500 mile endurance event for Model Ts taking place June 16, 17 and 18. We are preparing the car now. I will be driving a 1926 roadster.
Wish me luck!

Wow, a 500 mile race measured in days, not hours!  Good luck, please post the experience.

I would guess so.  I have a '18 Model TT truck, and with solid rubber rear tires you aren't going over like 15 or 20mph.  Also I think it has like a 6.xx rear gear in it.  Lord knows I would never want to drive it for more than an hour or so.  Hats off to the guys competing in this event, especially our own boss347convertible!

Montana 500 report: On the first leg of day 1, I missed a turn and had to make a round trip of 9 miles to return to the course. Despite this error, we managed to be in second place on leg 3 (final leg) of day 1. Day 2, we had issues with the car and ultimately on leg 5 of day 2, I heard a loud snap, and associated noises and the car was put on the trailer.

The camaraderie with all of the great people involved really made the event incredibly memorable. Many of the people participating have been involved in Model T's for over 20 years and their knowledge base is vast. I learned more about the nuances of the Model T in three days than I have in the last 3 years. From my perspective, the engineering behind the Model T is nothing short of brilliant.
In late July, we will take the car apart to check all components for inspection and to determine what failed.
Best,
Mike

Congratulations on completing (most) of the course.
Sounds like a good time was had by all!
Continued good experiences with your "T".
