1975 I was 15 and helping my best friend's cousin with his '66 Mustang. In 1977, my dad said if I graduated high school he would buy me a Mustang. I told him I wanted a 289 standard shift. He got me a six cylinder automatic. (Never did like that guy.) Anyway, I drove it for about 6 months, located a '68 289, it had air conditioner & power steering with automatic transmission and vinyl roof, $550.00 bucks. I drove it for a while and then by accident located a 68 parts car, 3 speed standard shift, 6 cylinder. I got the 3 speed out swapped it for my automatic transmission and my hotrod days started up at age 18.    After restoring this car in 2011, I realized how lucky I was when I was 18. Finding the right cam, finding the right intake manifold, 650 cfm, headers,  swapping out the clutch petals, all those other things (wrecks) it took to build this car in the 1980's. Some go fast dumb stuff I did back then was, when the air conditioner went out, I took it out. Power steering hoses were dragging across the headers. I took power steering out and change the gearbox. Wish I had AC now. (I saved all the brackets and everything so I'll get it back.) ☺  Back and forth from Florida to Texas a few times and then family began so parked it in 1984 and rarely drove it. I've kept it under a small carport all these years so I think I could use a paint job. ☺ I can't tell if the pictures coming with the post.

Forum rules require that you post at least two posts before you can post with a picture.  Keeps spammers at bay.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Alrighty then. ☺ I understand. I have a post about the vacuum lines. Is it counted as one?

Yes, Brent. Its my daily driver.  It was just washed and waxed that day. It has some covered up rust issues and needs paint. Thanks.
