So I've been thinking about welding up the emblem holes in the fenders on my '67 coupe, grinding down the posts on the lettering/emblems and using adhesive to attach them to the car as opposed to the original post/hole method. What do you guys think of this idea? Any one else done this? If so, what adhesive did you use?
I like the idea. I used stick-on MUSTANG letters on the sides of the 66 after trying hopelessly to get letters to align with the holes in the fenders and appear as if they are in the same paragraph. Hood letters are pin-on but the letters appear not in a correct row, even though a factory hood.
3M makes a red backed adhesive tape. If you put it on the emblem and it gets full surface area adhesion behind an emblem, it will stay put. Use the maximum surface area taped that you can get.
