Polishing/Cleaning Ceramic Coated Headers

I have some ceramic coated headers that I am taking off of my 351W. I want to clean/polish them up before I sell them. I see that Car Chemistry sells a product called Cerma-Glow for that purpose. Anybody use their product or anything else to clean/polish their ceramic coated headers that works?

Re: Polishing/Cleaning Ceramic Coated Headers

I have a set of Ceramic coat headers that I bought on ebay used.  They have some slight rust tint on some areas and too was looking at a way to clean them up nicely before installing them.

Re: Polishing/Cleaning Ceramic Coated Headers

I have used regular polishing compound (for car paint) with success to remove some oil that had leaking onto, and then baked on, the headers.

Re: Polishing/Cleaning Ceramic Coated Headers

I watched several videos and read the Cerma Glo directions. It seems that whatever you use it's going to be a PIA. Cerma Glo even suggested steel wool. I'm thinking using steel wool would leave steel fibers behind that would eventually rust? I am going to try metal polish and a Magic Eraser to see how that works or whatever else I have on hand here. If that doesn't work I'm going to give up.

Re: Polishing/Cleaning Ceramic Coated Headers

Its harder to find, but they do make bronze wool.  Try a marine store.  We used to use it on aluminum stuff on aircraft.

Re: Polishing/Cleaning Ceramic Coated Headers

I guess one could try using copper or stainless steel pot scrubbers.
