1,057 miles in a '65 (in <16 hours)!

Averaging 66 MPH ???  I did not go read the article, but you have to be really hauling it to make that kind of average speed.  He must have had a funnel and hose onboard...

Well ya should read it Steve, it's a good story!

Here's the spoiler:

"That put us Charlotte to Dallas in just under 16 hours. Figuring we probably spent an hour for fill-ups, food breaks, and a cool conversation in Vicksburg with the F150 driver, we averaged 70+mph on the road and 66mph overall."
