Thanks, Glen. I found a 74 C-4 in Austin for $150, but have not agreed to buy it yet.
I ran with a 1975 C4 behind my 351W and never had a problem other than the gear ratio on final drive giving me almost 3000 rpm at 60 mph.

Thanks, Billy.
Maybe this 4r70w I bought a few years ago is the correct answer. I was thinking of using the c-4 just for simplicity. I have a T5 but not wanting to have to row any more.
Speaking as one who changed from a C4 to a 4R70W - it is really nice to run down the freeway at 60 doing 1950 rpm vs almost 3000 rpm with the C4. (That is with a 3.25 rear end)

You're right Billy - she was using the diesel hose. I'm certain it was staged and that she didn't fill up with diesel.

What? That's un-American! Don't they know that we are a cashless society now? All bow to the plastic god!
Do they have a cash machine there? If not, I'll have to hit the one at the hotel - if they have one....?

Looks just like my 65 - Vintage Burgundy color. Didn't show her having to move the fuel nozzle around so the tank fills without constantly shutting off until you get the right angle on it. Oh yeah, the girl looked okay too.

When done, the Phoenix project needs to be in an art museum instead of on the road. It is that nice.

Do you have the springs installed correctly? If so, there shouldn't be any issues with it holding the trunk lid open. My lid pops right open whenever the latch is opened.

I will always remember sitting at the bar at the Margaritaville in Key West having a margarita. Jimmy wasn't there at the time, but it was neat to see the little stage in the place where he performed.

Corky says that he expects a lot of rain and some wind, but not too bad. He and Karol were camping when I texted him. He says they will be coming to the Bash in his camper van.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Head Gasket Oil Leak? » 8/29/2023 1:59 PM |
Re- torquing the head would be a logical step and if it stops the leak then problem solved. You would be able then to replace the valve cover gasket to make sure that isn't a possible leak location. If the leak persists then after 35 years then it's probably time to replace the gasket, check your valves and see if the head might be warped. How is the compression on the cylinder nearest the leak? All the cylinders?
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » Pretty neat way to get a little more clearence in valve covers. » 8/26/2023 10:32 AM |
Looks cool, but seems a lot of machine work when spotfacing the mounting bosses on the valve cover down a 1/4" would be quicker and cheaper and you would have enough room to clear.

From San Antonio, take I-410 east from airport to I-35 north to New Braunfels.
From Austin airport, take TX 71 west to I-35 and go south to New Braunfels.
No tolls on either of these routes, but there are toll highways in the Austin area. You should not have to worry about any toll roads in the New Braunfels area.
Austin Bergstrom airport is farther than San Antonio International, but to me is an easier drive. But, either one is not bad. I-35 gets really crowded during rush hour going either direction. It seems flights are usually cheaper out of Austin. I don’t fly much, so my advice is always questionable!!!
Thanks MS for the info. My flight will be arriving late enough to miss the worst of the rush hour and my return trip will also not be until the evening. I could have gone into Austin, but the drive to New Brafulls was twice as long as San Antonio, so I opted to go there, and my flights are free anyway.
FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » First mustang ever » 8/16/2023 11:57 AM |
Yup, that's right. The first Mustang vehicle ever built - right here in the Seattle area. Renton is one of the locations in Seattle where Boeing built the B-17's and post war there was all that manufacturing capability going to waste, so some local entrepreneurs must have tried their hand at making cars. They should have stuck to making airplanes....

I will be flying into SAT and renting a car. Are there toll roads between New Brafulls and San Antonio that I should know about?

I have a ton of stuff on the car that is custom made and it ain’t going to scrap yard. Can't you retain ownership of a totaled vehicle by paying (or deducting) the salvage value from your settlement with the insurance company? If you can, why pay up front for the "Cherished Salvage" value coverage when you may never use it?
How does a person know how much the ins company will reimburse as salvage value .
75 bucks a year for the rider is peanuts.
I have the cherished salvage coverage from Hagerty also.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
