Seems like it still is a market for that kind of safety lock in Russia:

Sweden is still a monarchy but unfortunately the Shelby owning king we have ain't got any political power at all. The rather open approach handling the virus the Swedish government has taken has as Ron says lead to mixed results as Sweden is on the top five list of countries with most people dead from the virus per capita. It would take a lot of text to explain the current political situation we have over here and as it's far away from any car related topics I'll leave it for now.

Anyway, all major car meets and shows has been cancelled this summer, but it seems people consider cruisin ok and what has happened is that most of the annual local cruisings takes place more or less spontaneously over here. Some of the Swedish media of course sees this as a problem, but as they can't find anyone responsible for arranging a cruising they are as usual barking up the wrong tree.

Didn't expect this to happen this year, but the local cruising here in town took place as usual:

Did you see my message?
Dan

I've seen it now. Sorry you couldn't connect using the app. I wasn't expecting someone to call in and wasn't prepared for that during the meeting, hopefully better luck next time.

This was a lot of fun and we'll do this again. I'll schedule a new tour later on and let everyone know again.

Been testing a couple of different online meeting solutions and I've found something called "Zoom" the easiest to use. Now I am thinking that I could invite you'll to my garage this upcoming weekend. The free account I have at Zoom allows for a 40 minute meeting with 100 participants. You can connect using more or less any device, PC, smartphone, Ipad etc. that's connected to the internet. What about Saturday 11th?

Here's my modified blasting cabinet and I am now running glass bead media together with water in it:

Here's what kind of surface it will produce on cast aluminum, this is obviously the side of this T5 Hurst shifter I've blasted:

And here's the other side:

Another thing I've always wanted to do is zinc plating which actually is as easy as described in this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-PtnwtOR24

Bolt to the left is what I started with, second from the left is after wet blasting, next is after zinc plating and to the right is the result after zinc plating plus wet blasting it again to get a slightly polished surface.

My son and I was planning on going to the Bash this year. The plan was to fly from Sweden to somewhere down in Europe and then cross the Atlantic ocean to Houston, meet up with Glen Buzek and then travel together to the Bash, more or less like we did back in 2011. Already as the situation was a week ago here in Europe my wife had major concerns about us going on this trip at this time. No matter how much I would like to meet my American Mustang friends again the "happy wife = happy life" reality had to be prioritized and I had to tell Glen and Mike that we are staying over here. A few days later the US is as I understand it closed from incoming visitors from Europe, the Swedish Health authorities are not recommending anyone to travel if they do not have to, tomorrow our southern neighbours in Denmark and Poland will close their borders, etc. I usually take media reports with not just a grain of salt, more like with a table spoon of salt, but judging from the reports I've read using different news sources about what kind of measures different governments are taking right now together with eyewitness reports like the one from our Italian friend Alessandro makes me believe that this is not just another seasonal flu.

Been watching a couple of YouTube videos about vapor or wet blasting. While trying to find something else I found an old pump I thought I didn't have any longer and happy about that I obviously had to try out if it would work for this application. Actually really simple as I just mixed water and blasting media in a bucket, glued a 90 degree outlet from the pump to agitate the water/media mix, used a blasting gun I already had and connected the whole contraption to 220 volt and the compressor. With glass bead media you're supposed to get a almost polished finish instead of the rather rough finish I got on the valve cover I made the test on. The next step now is to build this into the blasting cabinet I have.

That car is looking gooooood! Excellent workmanship and design, Hakan! Is that upper and lower intake the one I sent you or did you go with something newer? I can't tell as when I saw it last, it sure didn't shine like that! Looks like the Phoenix Project is nearing completion. I watched your video on how you shortened the aluminum drive shaft. That is the same one I used in my 4R70W installation, and it was shortened about 2" also. Very nice work - how did you balance it, or have you done that yet?

Thanks Ron!

The upper and lower intakes are either the ones you sent me or the ones ultrastang once sent me. I haven't balanced the drive shaft yet. I've had good luck in the past shortening drive shafts without balancing them and we'll see how it works out this time.

The goal I have now is to get the car running and I have a surprisingly short list of things to do to get there. A nice paint job and such things can wait until later when I really know I won't have to go back and change any of my many modifications.

The problem is that the pictures weren’t supposed to be evaporative because “this site” was hosting them, but it was using the PhotoBucket mechanism. So, even though the pictures were stored on the site’s server, PhotoBucket locked the format so the pictures would not render.

Not exactly correct from an IT-tech perspective, but as the result is the way it is it doesn't matter anyway.

IIRC I had read about a Mustang forum in one of the US Mustang magazines that's also available here in Sweden. This must have been in the year 2000 when I just had bought my '67 coupe that later became the Phoenix Project. Anyway I obviously had some questions early on and decided to ask them at the mentioned forum and the rest is history. Also have had the opportunity to visit the Bash three times, the first one in 2004 when BILLY WALTON thought my name tag was a fake until he heard my accent, in Kalispell in 2011 together with my then 17 year old son in Glen's 65 all the way from Texas to Montana and the one Glen and Steve hosted in Tomball in 2012.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on.
