1969 Mustang 351 engine change

Can the engine be changed without removing the shock tower to fire wall brace?

Maybe ................if you cut out the top of the radiator support.

Re: 1969 Mustang 351 engine change

I removed and installed my 351w based 427 without removing the export brace or modifying the core support. I did have to remove the valve covers. The crank pulleys must be removed, too, but the balancer can be installed. I did this install with the TKO600 transmission bolted to the engine.
