That will make gear shifts sound like the ones in Ford Vs Ferrari? Asking for a friend.

Yes there is, it's on the Ford racing products web site. The app is acutally a flat plane crank shaft crate motor and of course it has to be installed into the appropriate Ford vehicle.

There was a thing you plug into cigarette lighter. It made racing sound as the alt. speed increased.

Seriously, there was some development of ECU Bluetooth connectivity for data logging, which I thought was kinda cool.
But, do you really wanna give someone the ability to to hack the ECU that controls stuff like steering, braking, and throttle control??
Of course ... I may just be paranoid. But is it paranoia if its true?

Unfortunately this can already be done. Most cars now are connected to some kind of network or over wifi for things like GPS, Onstar, etc. These systems are either unsecure or very low security. I saw a show on Discovery or one of those type channels where a hacker hacked into a car and changed the gear the transmissions was in, turned the wheel, and applied the brakes all from a hand held device. Yeah, its quite scary. It would be easy to cause a wreck if a hacker wanted to. Yet another reason I prefer my dumb old cars.

Sally, you would love the sound of that! 12,000+ RPM out of a V16!
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
