I ordered this Aluminum radiator from Engineered Cooling Products. It is a work of art. $199.00 plus shipping.

Gary, between your radiator and air conditioner...you’re SUPER COOL 😎
Looks great!

Now the big question, should I paint it black or leave it natural?

It’s YOUR car...what do YOU like?
Sounds familiar for some reason🤔
You could have some bling for Surfside fling!

Nicer looking tanks than my fabbed Champion.
I shot a mist coat of zinc chromate followed by a thin coat of semi gloss black laquer on the bottom tank only of my aluminum rad, polished the top. For maximum efficiency left the fins natural rather than coat them with paint
I like shiny, you may not

Here is the inside of the old vs new. The old is a 28 year old Checker Auto Parts purchase and it cooled just fine. I'm thinking the new should handle the the addition of A/C.

Me think that way too.

I painted the front of my griffin aluminum radiator flat black. I don’t care for the look of a shiny radiator showing through the Mustang’s grille. But I do like the aluminum look under the hood.
Plus... Not painted does not peel or chip.

Yup, the last line got me "Any swap performed with lots of booze..."

That's a good looking piece at a great price Gary. I too painted the front flat black.

For anyone thinking of painting their radiators remember: paint on the radiator will reduce the heat transfer. If you need to paint your radiator, use radiator paint (yes, there is such a thing). No primer, use as little paint as possible.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
