A/C evaporator is on the pax side along with the heater, compressor is on the driver side. How dumb is that???
Hello Ford! Place the A/C compressor above the alternator on the pax side.
Sometimes I just don't get Ford's Better Idea.

Believe it or not. There is a reason.
If they hang all the accessories on one side, main bearing wear results from all the force being applied to one side. At least that is what I read somewhere a long time ago.
Maybe you can creat new brackets as others have done and mount it where it works best for your particular needs.

Think about the Fox cars, compressor on the left, alternator on the right. AC evap. on the right, battery on the left. Completely backwards.

I didn't want A/C hoses running all over the engine bay so I mounted the Sanden compressor on the right side and moved the alternator to the left side of my '65. I am using a Vintage Air evaporator kit so the evaporator hose connections are located where the blower motor used to be.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
