Too soon for me. Gotta have a few months for all the snow to melt on the passes.

I want to go, but my car won’t be ready!!

I'd be down for a mini bash now that I have a Mustang to show up in.

I have a guest coming to my place the same weekend as the Lucky Run, so I cannot attend this year. Lucky Run is certainly worth going to if you can possibly go, though.
Since the big BASH is end of April, I am sure there will be time to work in another mini-bash this summer. Once I get my truck on the road, I want to start looking into a Route 66 tour.

Route 66? West or east? That sounds like fun.

I like the sound of a Route 66 mini bash.

I figure Route 66 is way too long to do all at once, without ta MAJOR kitchen pass in place. I have not really looked into it but figure there has to be a way to meet in the middle, or at one end or the other, and travel a good portion of it. Then, maybe in a future year, do the other parts.
Open to suggestions from anyone with experience.
The way I see it, any trip I take from Texas will require driving at least double the miles of the Route 66 portion of the trip, and those miles count for nothing on my credit card!
I have spoken with some friends from s former car club I was in when I lived in Ovilla. They expressed the old roads really take a toll on a nice car. A couple of them even had paint work done after the trip. That is why my truck will be used, with satin black quickie paint job and all. But, they made the trip as part of a huge tour group where they had some guys passing st high speed on some of the worst roads, kicking up gravel and generally creating problems. That is why I would not consider driving it on one of the bigger organized tours.
And before you get ideas of just renting a car for the trip, I ask this: What is the fun of driving Route 66 if you don’t do it in an old car? Got to get into the real spirit of the adventure.

The "Mother Road" is a must for pictures in your cars photo album.
