Hi
I'm looking to install fog lights in my grill, but I prefer to have them not on a separate switch.
Firstly, does anyone know the measurements (diameter) of the original style with the chrome, annnnnd the size of the GT500/Eleanor Style?
I feel like I'd prefer the GT500 style/size over the factory ones, but I have a plan on how to wire them all to function with a relay Harness (plug and play) and solely working with the Hi/Low Switch!

The O/E 67-68 GT fog light is a 4 inch sealed beam lamp. The O/D of the chrome O/E bezel is 4 7/8".
The Eleanor lamps appear to be 7 inch.
IIRC, the aftermarket GT 500 grilles come with the 7 inchers mounted inboard or outboard.

Awesome, thanks Rudi.
I've only had my 68 for 1.5months, are the main headlights 7in?

Yes the O/E are 7 inch, the they are H/L single sealed beams.
I have stock GT fogs in my 68 and 7" tri-bar housungs with H4 halogen bulbs.

Is the Max Headroom plate a reference to it being a convertable?

Yes mostly but also to a lesser extent, homage to the person who saw all of this coming .... for those of us old enough to remember him.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
