Anyone have any photos of the Ididit steering columns that they installed with just a steel finish and clearcoat like to get an idea of what they look like before installing mine and deciding on whether or not to just clear coat or paint it to match

I would think you would definitely want to paint it. A clearcoated chunk of steel would not look very good in my opinion!

I bought a bare steel unit and hit it with a coat of etching primer for now. It will get painted to match the rest of the interior at some point.

I thought about doing the same thing- was going to sand/polish the bare steel column and clear it, but decided against it and painted it black. Although I sort of like the idea, I didn't think it would match the rest of the interior very well.

I just bought the powder coated black one. Guess it depends on your interior color.
