Getting ready install both in the 67 coupe. The 351w looks a little tighter than the 289, will try to install both
parts tomorrow. I am using 69 cast iron exhaust manifolds (mustang cougar), h pipe for 69 mustang 351w and
351w z bar. I know someone on this site has gone thru this, may be it can save me some trial and error. It seems
like a lot of things I'm doing is 2 steps forward 1 step back. The 351w looks pretty good in the engine compartment,
my 69 cougar 390 defines a tight engine compartment. As always thanks for the tips and input. mustang stu

I have Shorty headers on my installation and I know the routing of the pipes would be different with manifolds. I did headers first, Z-bar second then third. I had to bend and twist the Z-bar in a couple different directions to miss the pipes.

Stu, I just did this earlier this year with my Mach. 351W with stock manifolds and repop H-pipe. I had my linkage in first, then pipe. It's a little tight on one of the bolts when hooking up the pipe to manifold but it can be done. Come to think of it, I believe I had to remove the adjusting rod for access too.

HudginJ3,Boss429 Things didn't go too bad yesterday.I put the z bar in first, there was a stud that was bolted on to the bottom of the z bar that wouldn't let me put in the h pipe. The z bar wasn't all hooked up so I took it
out, installed the h pipe, checked my 69 ford shop manuals for clutch linkage. I noticed the little stud wasn't
used, with that I removed it, and was able to install the z bar. When taking the old z bar out I had to wrench
the 2 bolts out that hold the z bar bracket to the frame (it took forever). I have an old sae tap and die set
that I chased the treads on those 2 bolts I was able to spin them all the way in finger tight. THANKS for
the tips guys. mustang stu
