Re: So Steve hows that garage build going

I threw in some earlier pictures of the stick framing just for kicks. They finished stucco today.  All that is left for the builder to complete is the doors and paint touch-up and site clean up.
Then I can start the wiring, insulation, plumbing fixtures ( 3 sinks and a commode) and drywall/interior finish out

Very nice, Steve.  I hope you're not planning to do the sheet rock yourself.

Naah
I will hire out the insulation and sheetrock work.  I have to do the electrical first.  Contractor ran power to a 100 amp Square D box. I will do the rest.

Re: So Steve hows that garage build going

Looks nice Steve, one thing when you run your wiring be sure to wire in more outlets than you think you'll need  because in the end you'll need them at one time are another.

Re: So Steve hows that garage build going

I'm sure you have thought of all this Butt (TS&T), are you planning to run LAN cable, CATV coax, and maybe a multi-pair general service cable for such things as intercom all to the house?  Pretty handy and now's the time to lay it down.

Lookin real good!

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

I had a 1” conduit run from the house to the gameroom. Will be pulling CAT6 and at least a pair of wires. I figure at least wire up a warning light that lets me know all three garage doors are shut. That is important since one door can’t be seen from the house.  Trying to keep this as simple as possible.

Re: So Steve hows that garage build going

Back in the day 1974 when I built my shop, I ran a 4 inch pipe from house. It is amazing how it filled up the first few years. Today I could do everything I have there easily in a 3/4 inch. With all the digital and remote wyfi stuff! Only a couple of signals really need hard wired.

Very very nice!   Is it a two car with a 'relaxing area'?  One bay with a lift and one not?! Give us a virtual tour!!

Re: So Steve hows that garage build going

It is 26’ wide x 30’ deep garage with 20’ wide x 22’ deep game room with half bath.  8’ x 20’ porch.

Room for a car in the gameroom should the need ever arise.  I purposefully did not make three doors on the garage to keep me from parking a “future project” in there.  Intent is to have the lift on the right side and my 21’ Sea Ray parked on the left side AFTER I finish the truck. Sea Ray is stored offsite until I finish the truck.  Once done, the boat, Mustang and F100 will fit in the garage with one parked on the lift.

Pool table and bar will be in the gameroom.  The overhead sectional door in the gameroom will be aluminum framed with all glass panels.  Gameroom has vaulted 15’ ceiling. Garage has 12’ ceiling.
