The problem with reproductions, as far as what I have personally observed, is not with the shape of any of the parts, so they appear as a perfect reproduction. The issue is with the metallurgical properties of the metal parts. The wire spring does not “spring” as it should and other pieces do not hold their shape.
I have no experience with the ones you posted about. Maybe they are doing it right. That would be great to find a source of parts that actually work. I do know the Scott Drake switches are total junk, though. Assume immediate failure will take place!
I am still of the opinion a NOS Ford switch is the only way to go.
Please let us know results if you use something else and it works well!
Also, just another observation. If using an aluminum steering wheel adapter, after repeated removal/installation, the tapered hole gets larger, allowing the adapter to fit tighter and tighter on the shaft, and that allows it to compress the springs on the switch until they eventually bottom out and short against the column. So, a replacement new adapter should be installed if this occurs. You can tel it is happening if the gap between the steering wheel collar and the steering column is getting tighter than when you first installed it. Bottom line: Some switch problems are actually a steering wheel adapter problem.

A thought for future projects.
I purchased and IDIDIT column for my 66 Coupe with the standard Ford switch and had some issues, not with IDIDIT but the design of the switch. Spoke to IDIDIT guys at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville about it, they suggested next time buy the Mustang column and having the GM turn signal switch installed and make the necessary wiring changes.

Totally agree. The GM switch in my 65 Corvette was a vastly improved design over the Mustang switch. I wish there was a way to convert it.

I agree... the Scott Drake switches are total junk, as in shorted out blowing fuses junk. I purchased a Dennis Carpenter switch and that at least works, but it is rather average. The Dennis Carpenter switch is very noisy and it doesn't seem to stay on all that well.

I am starting to have some issues with the Dennis Carpenter turn signal switch that I fitted and wondered if anyone had experience with the ones in the link above, or is NOS the only way to go?

When I replaced mine I was able to still buy one from the Ford dealer in town. The first one I got didn't last long or work right. The second one did though and has been in the car for over 20 years. Both were Ford parts in Ford boxes. No idea why one worked and the other didn't. Possibly installer error (I was a teenager at the time).
I see NOS ones up on eBay fairly frequently. Usually in the $120-$140 range. Were I faced with the need I would just go that way. Its likely a permanent solution as opposed to a temporary one.

if it makes anyone feel any better, in the last 10 years or a few more I've put in my fourth TSS in my 64 falcon. I thought they were expensive at nearly $100 a pop. my last go around I put in one for a mustang off the internet for $32. in my case the horn brushes kept breaking off, so we'll see how this goes.

Soooooooooo...IS there a way to retro-fit a Shivel-lay TSS to work on Mustang stuff?!!
(With Bullet Bob and Walt...and others..you know who you are!) Shirley we could get a cheaper "work-around" for these inferior(or stupid expen$ive) switches.
IF they made one I would certainly buy one from them...... if mine took a dump!

Just swap to an aftermarket column. They mostly all have GM style switches, unless you find one that's Ford specific.

Sounds like NOS is the best way to go then...
The Scott Drake one I fitted was utter junk and even had a short. The Dennis Carpenter switch makes this loud "CLICK" every time I use it. Now it is randomly coming on.
Bad experiences like this make me dubious about aftermarket switches.

Here is an update on my turn signal switch issues...
I found and purchased a NOS switch. Just waiting for it to arrive and then I will give the Dennis Carpenter aftermarket item a free flight to the trash can. I contacted both Scott Drake and Dennis Carpenter to advise them that I had problems with their turn signal switches. Scott Drake seemed to justify themselves and I just heard back from Dennis Carpenter with the response of "Sorry we cannot help you".
After trying two aftermarket switches, I am going back to original Ford. I am sure this will last another 50 years.
I replaced my steering wheel with a reproduction original steering wheel. I saw on another thread where something about aftermarket steering wheel adapters killing turn signal switches. Is there anything that I need to change? I don't know if I still have my original (cracked up) steering wheel or not.

My switch will cancel the turn signal when I turn the wheel even a quarter turn in either direction. I looking at the switch it looks like the stock switch but I think the new switches have a plastic composition that is stiffer than the old style and it doesn't flex as easily. I thinking of grinding some material off of the arms to make it flex easier
