Anybody shopped at Lowes lately?

I saw a 12volt..20 watt xenon light bulb that I want to use in my old Mustang!  They are real bright and run cool...long life and don't draw much voltage (according to the package) I wonder if it could be incorperated in the rear taillight assembly. Maybe as an axilliary brake light?!
I don't know......just looked pretty interesting.

I am a big fan of brighter tail and brake lights. I'm sure you can do it, what type of base does it have? If it is a Mogul it may be a bit large for auto use unless you put a household fixture on the back of your car. ;-)

Re: Anybody shopped at Lowes lately?

Well!!.........They didn't have the fixtures to go with the blubz butt.......they are way small... sorta like a Christmas tree light can get those at an electronics store I bet!
They could replace a SINGLE filiment blub(just not many of those on a 66!)  Could fab something,I think, in the housing maybe one for brake and the other two functions using the factory light......or turn signal and the factory for the rest. Don't know if there is enough room for THREE of these blubz in a housing.
Just noodling...

Re: Anybody shopped at Lowes lately?

Went to Lowes and saw the lights they were $8.44 for two bulbs. Two tiny pins coming out the back for the hookup. I would like to see them on to see how bright they are. Looks like you would have to drill a hole in the rear light to mount them in.  If I had a couple of extra taillights would consider trying them out butt(TS) don't want to cut holes in mine right now. I'm sure it could be done though.
