Headlight Sockets!!!

Will the H4 headlamps connect to my headlight sockets? Or do I need to buy the adapter typical listed with the conversions?

Is the ceramic connector really needed?

Thanks John

Re: Headlight Sockets!!!

Yes ... butt, originally I relayed  my Cibies with the original wiring, was happy with them. Then installed Corky's harness that BB included all new wiring, relays and headlight plugs built in ... night and day difference.

Re: Headlight Sockets!!!

Mine did.  Try it before you get an adapter.  It was a sealed beam with a depression for the bulb.  The bulb is not inside the sealed beam.  Non- sealed beams are , or were, not legal here in the golden state.

Wow! that was back in the 80's and the same H4's are still there.

Thanks guys. I will give it a try before buying adapters or changing sockets.

Re: Headlight Sockets!!!

Just be careful, Halogen bulbs create a lot more heat that could impact the OEM socket and wires.  New sockets w/pigtails are made to take this increased heat.  They are available at Summit, and cost less than $5.00 each.

Re: Headlight Sockets!!!

When I created my own version of a plug and play head light relay harness I installed ceramic sockets because I could. I run the Sylvania brite star sealed beam halogens and while they worked great before the relay upgrade they are excellent after.

The only thing I forgot was to plug, before play.
