Something you just dont get to see every day, in fact...nearly never..

I have an engine and a transmission to rebuild so I figured I needed clean things up and make some bench space.  This is an extremely rare view.

Wow, very impressive!

I do that about once a year... usually when I get frustrated because I can't find something that I just put down because there's too much sh!t  all over my workbench.   I am just about due for another clean/purge

That is an awesomely tidy work space you have there.
The clutter  on my work benches are constantly at the maximum angle of repose.

Before the purge, Rudi, I had about two square feet of clear work space on one bench.  Something had to give!

Even when new, I do not believe my workbench every was this tidy, maybe its a inspiration to clean mine up (probably not!).

Re: Something you just dont get to see every day, in fact...nearly never..

When my workbench is all cluttered (pretty much a constant), I can always find the tools and hardware on it because I can see their locations in my head.  After cleaning and organizing, at least some percentage of the contents is never heard from again.  Whenever I run across the need for one of those items, I draw a complete blank as to where it could possibly have been put.  So I only clean the benches between projects.

You need to come help me purge. I purge and purge and more stuff appears. What am I doing wrong?

Either continuing to buy things or having friends.  Its one of the two.
