Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

How much space was there between the truck's roof top and the ceiling?
Is it closer  between the hood and ceiling or just the camera angle?
I like the OSB ceiling instead of sheet rock.........less expensive or just what you had on hand?
I got lotsa question!!
Looks good!!

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

I will get solid measurement next time but I can tell you that it will only go up 1 more click witch would make it 6-1 under the rams, to tall to work on. His hood and tail get much closer to the ceiling. The cab has about 12" in that shot but the rear and nose will be about 6"

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

Got the fire place out today. floor is a bit rough and will need some work for the tool boxes to sit level. Tomorrow i take out the last wall and then I can set the lift where it will be bolted down. Sand blaster will go where the blue ladder is.

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

You are making great progress. That’s going to be a fine looking work area.

Most of my projects seem to take more than a calendar year. I think the whole tour at it bug plays a part too!!

OK we got pics of the new lift in the newly remodeled garage. First up is the stang while the old door header was still up behind it. Then a pick of the wifes car. that we first tested  with just in case. Another pick of the mustang in park mode and has plenty of clearance everywhere. And we lifted a 65 lonnnng box and made it into service height of 67" to the bottom of ramps and has room to go up one more click. Tomorrow I  will finish the drywall and get the electrical buttoned up so I can install the new LED lights. Lots to do yet so little time to do. Sure am glad the roof is done. Hoist will cost me money as I found the muffler is going on the wifes car and it has a oil leak. LOL
oh we fixed the light on the opener too.

Did you add a high-lift kit to your door torsion springs, or are you relying solely on the door opener to hold the door up at an angle?  That is very dangerous without the correct torsion springs...

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

The garage and lift look great, I'm envious. But please tell me the legs are anchored to the floor, I keep looking at the photos and cant see where they are? I would hate for one to kick out.

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

Those could be the type where no anchors are needed. In fact Terry's (I believe) comes with wheels that can be easily mounted to move the lift around the shop! Talk about portable!!!

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

That looks just like my Direct Lift....no anchors required and with the wheels it moves very easily.

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

Well not bolted down yet. Waiting to knock out the 2 foundation curbs. The lift does say that it does not need to be bolted BUT I will be bolting it soon as it will make me feel safer

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

Looks great!

Definitely get the gutters up before Labor Day.

Just like Washington, rain as soon as school year starts and ends when school year ends.
At least that’s my memory of Tacoma.😂

Cab my friend you’ve given a whole new meaning to the term do it yourselfer. Very impressive. Huge amount of work in a relatively short amount of time. I’m beyond impressed.

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

6 weeks from digging the holes to hanging some signs. I still have to work on getting my sand blaster and tool box area back together. But I can now walk around both cars with ease. Something that before was impossible. Plus the extra 4 feet is roomy. I have a lot of crap, but its all good crap.

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

Six weeks, outstanding! I'd have taken six weeks of breaks on that size project.

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

OK here is a Pano view of the new shop. StarBucks is lited and I have a couple more to install. check out my wall of parts above the toolboxes. I added some LEDs to the ramps but for some reason they look blue in the pic?
Crazy but I have way more room then the 4' we added in the front.
PS. my garage door is level

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

You’ve got to be tickled pink with the size of that garage. It’s amazing what a difference adding just a few feet makes. The life is the icing on the cake!

Re: PUTTIN IN A LIFT

I have more tools then I know what to do with. I did borrow the roofing gun but i had all the nails, I was saving them for a rainy day. Got the gutters up today and cleaned the other garage hole out so i can park my F150 inside too, or take my C10 out for a putt. they share a 1 stall double deep. Now with the lift i could put the wifes car on top and have the C10 and the stang ready to go. HUM
