14” Wheels backspace question

I finally had a moment to be a beagle today.

I measured my Cragar 14x6.5” wheels.
This time I will at least know for sure.
Thanks to wonderful help of the guys working at Super Shops...the measurement on these are....3.5” BS
That is what their book recommended...by Cragar?

No wonder with a worn suspension and big tires didn’t work.
After new suspension from Mustangs Plus, I was able to run 235/60/14 on all four. Minor scrape on passenger rear, 25 years later...I could have shifted the axle a smidge and avoided the problem.

This was without Arning/Shelby drop.

what BS works best for a 14x6.5” /14x7”/14x8” wheels?

Just curious more than anything.
