With our recent move and a quite a bit of “inherited wood” along with “my collection” of recycled pallets and boards from work projects earlier this year,
I decided to make shelves that can be moved for additional “project space” as needed.
Cost was wheels and screws and a couple of days...with distractions of course...SQUIRREL.
I went the cheap route and made the “shopping cart” setup.
BTW, I made two of them.
One for 90% of the large boards, second for larger tools.
Earlier in our move, I repurposed a larger set of wheels to attach to a heavy duty rectangular pallet...from yet another project, to make a cart for an engine.
I didn’t have room for the engine stand and didn’t want to drive the truck and engine just to get it.
That will be handy for big heavy items...rolls nicely too for a skateboard.
Figured I’d share some of my garage ideas.

I would advise putting some diagonals on the sides and back. Wood tends to yield a bit at the fasteners, even if you use screws, over time. Those will keep it from leaning and going all caddy wumpus. Great idea though. I'm getting ready to build some sliding shelves for my garage in an effort to get all my 200 boxes of hardware and tools organized. Maybe this weekend I'll start. Last weekend I was fixing my kids playhouse from where the roof got destroyed by a fallen tree. I had a good excuse to buy a thickness planer though.

I plan on it.
Was pleased to get it consolidated in one location, instead of the whole length of garage and half way across the back walls.
I suppose they did have 15+ years of collection in the “new” garage...only garage.😁
Kinda like my car parts? 🤣
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
