Good deal?

I found a Pertronic flamethrower distributor  #D130710 new in the box never used with 8mm red MSN wires $255.00 would this be a good deal for my new motor?

Re: Good deal?

Sounds okay, but are the wires new or used?  I wouldn't touch used plug wires.  If they are new are they cut to length or premade?  I like to make my own wires up.  I find the "perfect fit" sets just never really are.

Re: Good deal?

TKO,
This is all new never used. Wires are pre cut and have multi angle plug boots. I do agree I like to cut my own but the deal is 250 with wires and the wires alone are a 100 bucks. I just wanted to know if this is a good move. I have the conversion in my stock distributor now with the hot coil but I dont know how much wear is on mine at 135K.

Re: Good deal?

Hmn,  if the distributor you already have is working I'm not sure I'd be in a hurry to change it.  There have been a lot of posts about bad distributors made overseas, and I'm not sure where Pertonix sources theirs.

Also, if you wanted to modify the wires all you have to do is buy the ends you crimp on.  You can find a set of eBay for like $12-$15.  OF course this only works if you need to make them shorter, but IME the wires that don't fit are because they are too long.

Re: Good deal?

Thank you, I am going to bail because I dont want red wires and my dis is working. I will go through it while motor is out and make sure springs and things are all good.
