Because the cool thing about having having a clutch is when your hydraulic release bearing fails you can still drive it home 75 miles from Castaic. Traffic signals can be interesting.
Champagne problems.

Has that thing failed on you already?

Oh ya. I pulled off the 5 in Castaic to visit Paul at Mustang MD. At the second intersection the clutch pedal went to the floor and the car kept moving. I was on hold for a tow when it came to me that I could start it in gear, and shift without using the clutch. Having a dad who was a truck driver sometimes pays off.
Once at Paul's I removed the lever boot on the left side of the bellhousing and put my phone camera up in the hole to shoot a video while the clutch pedal was being depressed. The brake fluid looks to be escaping where the O ring would seal. Operator error? We shall see.
I'm kinda curious why no one cautioned me about using a hydraulic release bearing.

Doubt its operator error. I hate hydraulic throw out bearings because of this. Its not at all uncommon. With a master/slave setup at least if something fails you can usually pump it up and still get it to work to get you home. Even those though I'm not a fan. I find hydraulics numb. Mechanical linkages almost never fail, and offer much better feedback.

Sorry you gots trouble Bob, and it was doing so well.

Sorry for your troubles. That type of failure and the work needed to repair/replace, I'm happy I have the external slave cylinder for my clutch.

Well that sucks large time. I know you're a good tranny puller so the fix is easy.

HATE IT!!!!...........Well, at least you have a lift (ohhhh wait-a-minute!)
Although I have had 'issues' with my Z-bar arrangement...nuthin's bullet proof...This is one reason why.....(shoot, you don't need to hear that!)
Let us know how it comes out.

Hmm... seeing how there's a couple of definitions for tranny... I'm not sure that's a compliment.

That’s a bummer.

Here's a good one. Tilton has no warranty on their products. Nada. Must be cuz so many use their products for racing, or they have no faith in their product. Summit's warranty is 90 days, I bought this hydraulic release bearing in June of last year. Summit however will send me a replacement. That my friends is outstanding service.
I rather doubt I will use the replacement. I've got a couple of external slave cylinders I'll see if I can fit. Sure wish MS made a cable kit for the 69.

That better be a short track to fail in a short amount of time.
.
Road construction is fun too.
