1 INCH FRONT SWAY BAR UPGRADE FOR 66 MUSTANG SUGGESTIONS AND SOURCES

WHAT BRAND  BARS ARE YOU ALL USING? AND WHERE ARE THE GOOD DEALS ON THEM?
I RECENTLY PUT NEW LEAF SPRINGS AND BILSTEIN SHOCKS ON REAR AND HAD THE FRONT END REBUILT IT HAS SHELBY DROP AND LOWERED SPRINGS. IT HAS NEW TIRES ON ALL FOUR CORNERS.
I ORDERED BILSTEIN STREET VALVE SHOCKS FOR FRONT WAS CONSIDERING A 1 INCH SWAY BAR BUT WANTEDTO HEAR ABOUT SOME BEFORE I DID.

I've had an Addco 1" front sway bar for decades. urathane bushings.  works great and was one of the first things I installed.  They never wear out(:-)

I bought my ft/rr set for my 65 from CJs and they perform and fit well.

Slammed Big Blue, ran over the varmints that messed with the Stang. Now all is good in the NW

ADDCO has a good reputation.  Hellwig bars are also good.  I got mine from, sob, Mustangs Plus.  Not sure the brand.

1" is a good size BILLY. I fitted one to my car and it made a lot of difference, but I fitted rubber bushings. I don't like nolathane...

I bought a 1-1/8" swat bar through OpenTracker and its made by Scott Drake..... not many options for a big block Mustang.

Considering its formed steel with holes on each end, there hasn't been any issues so far..... what can really go wrong with it. ***This is just a general comment, not a challenged accepted type of thing!!

No, truly there isn't much to go wrong with a sway bar.  The only ones I've ever seen have issues were because they got bent in a wreck and no one realized it.  That said, there are different ways to build them, so not all 1" bars are created equal for example.  Hollow vs. solid, adjustable vs. nonadjustable, and types of steel used are the principle differences and typically why more expensive bars are more expensive; they work better.  But any 1" bar is going to be better than the stocker; that's for sure.

Re: 1 INCH FRONT SWAY BAR UPGRADE FOR 66 MUSTANG SUGGESTIONS AND SOURCES

Stockers were I think 7/8", or possibly even as small as 3/4".  1/8" doesn't seem like much, but when its diameter is a pretty big difference; its a 31% increase in volume.

Re: 1 INCH FRONT SWAY BAR UPGRADE FOR 66 MUSTANG SUGGESTIONS AND SOURCES

If you decide to get an 1-1/8”, verify it is centered and clears both strut rods.
You’ll bend or break them rods.
There is very little clearance on mine.
30 years this year with no problems.
I just remember to verify clearance if I take it off or modify anything on the front end.

Just measured the stock bar on my brother's 65. ~11/16".
