Who makes those 1/2 inch spacers that MustangSteve had the picture of on the top of shock towers?

Check your shock travel thread.

Heck. a few fender washers can do that. Get grade 8's.
I do not like the idea as the shock mounts have a lot of surface area to spread the shock movements. You could also make a plate that matches the shock mount footprint.

Any hardware store should have some. Or ebay. Or McMaster-Carr
Most stress on shock bolts is in tension, so they don’t need to be very strong.

Probably would need a little longer bolts to I would think.

Look in fastener section at lowes or ace. You can find them in those plastic boxes ...we could call it the hardware jewelry boxes. Usually find cabinet hardware nearby or in same section.

I would buy a piece of aluminum plate and drill five holes in it. Shoot I had 13 leaf springs in the front of my corn binder and 5" steel tubes for blocks in the rear, they dont make lift kits for 55 internationals. You can make anything you want or need. Just takes a little time, but time is cheap.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
