Cup Holders

I was at a loss on where to install a cup holder in the 69 as the console has no room under it with the one piece seat riser taking up any room there. After riding in my brother's BMW with retractable cup holders I thought I might find a spot in the lower dash it would fit. No luck there for me, so I axed my son if he had any idears. And this is what he came up with. Me likes. It may not be ideal, but it's better than nuttin.

Re: Cup Holders

Cool, look like it might be in the correct anatomical position for a relief container.🤪

Re: Cup Holders

Hey BB,

I seen this on a FB.  I didn't know if you have this set up.   I was thinking of doing it with mine.  You can buy the cup holders on ebay for $10.00

Re: Cup Holders

I do have that console, but the one piece seat riser takes up too much room right under there to have enough room for the recessed cup holder holes. Woulda been way too easy.

Re: Cup Holders

Another option maybe a  Ford Taurus cup holder it would have a smooth hidden look until you push the pop out button an option  with it maybe to take off the bottom flip down holder I did this on my Taurus then just pulled out the ash tray and I could fit a 20 ox drink. I like your idea for a cup holder looks great functional.

Re: Cup Holders

Good idea for you with the cup holder placement, However for me personally I can just see myself cruuzzen down the road and reaching for that cold drink betwixed my legs. Upon lifting up the soda while driving with my luck hitting the bottom of the steering wheel. My hand slipping up the wet cup knocking the lid off and the BigGulp falling to the floor. Thus creating Lake Soda on my floor carpet. What if you were to make an adapter that pushed into the two seat belt buckle holes.

Add the distinct possibility that that drink will land right in the middle of your crouch.

So your seats hang over the console?  I might have to see a pic of that...LOL

Re: Cup Holders

I got these many years ago and dont know if they are still available. It fits snugly into the seat belt parking slots in the console. I had to move the plug in thingees so they didn't cover the window switches.
I would not trust a coffee cup in them but good enough for a can of pop ( soda as  you mericans call it)

Re: Cup Holders

Steve,  the seats are fine and don't hang over. It's the one piece seat riser welded to the floor that causes interference where the cup holders would be.

Rudi, you have a vert, right? Do you have a one piece seat riser? I had to grind off the bottoms of the seat belt latch holder cup for my console to sit flush on the carpet. Your way woulda been mucho easier.

Re: Cup Holders

Yes Bob, it’s a flop top. The belt pockets don’t seem to hit the up to 68 convertible seat platform.

Re: Cup Holders

Yes Rudi, It looks like CJ Pony has them, Butt with Bobs skills I would think he could make a  more functional one to hold his choice of cups. Even if it was made out of wood then covered with his choice of materials.
